Squeaking Chassis in parking lot

OK time for another stupid problem thread. When I drive very slowly around the parking lot and get on and off the gas, I hear loud creakCREAK coming from under the car. This happens regardless of if I'm messing with the clutch or not. It will creak each time the car changes pitch and the more rapidly it changes pitch e.g., stomping on the brakes or flooring it, the louder my car will creak.

Any ideas of what to check? For those who don't read signatures mine is a 2003 LS and the only stuff I've done to my suspension is kybs w/ fm springs and sways.

when did you do he suspension work? Sway bar bushings will squeak/creak if they aren't greased well...

Uh yah... I kinda didn't really grease up the bushings that well I think. I think I forgot to do it and then was like meh it'll be fineeee without it.

Any lube recommendations? :(

I used axle grease for my rear sway. My front racing beat bar came with some very interesting grease, I have never seen anything so heavy. Forgot the name of it, anyone remember?

lol I did the same thing so I wouldn"t feel to bad. I believe energy suspension makes something specifically for suspension bushings. I may even have a can layin around. I'll look when I get home from work today. I believe Maryland performance on Bel Air rd carries it...

I use marine grease for sway bar bushings. It comes in tubes like you would use in an ordinary grease gun, and you can buy it at your FLAPS. The grease is usually green, and it's sticky.

I use pool lubricant to grease the sway bushings. It is a clear goop that works very well and does not wash away. Pinch-a Penny should have it.

I don't have mine anymore, must have given it away already at some point...

Emilio at 949 Racing recomends SuperLube when you run out of the HyperLube that is suplied with the Energy Suspension kit.

"If you run out of the Hyperlube the bushings come with, I recommend Superlube, Ace Hardware carries it too. "

SuperLube also has a wesite that they sell from.

Damn, I wish people could pin down my chassis clunk this easily.

I agree with sway bushings too. Do you happen to get the dreaded sway popping from the sway linkage hitting on the upper control arm when you turn? I have that bad. Need to do the hose and clamp trick or find something similar to fix it with.

It's been my experience that most any silicone-based grease will work. Just avoid petroleum based greases. I picked mine up in the plumbing section of my local hardware store.

Went with all new bolts when I did the bushings. Perhaps they have loosened up over the last year. Still had a noise when everything was freshly installed. The one noise I've been trying to fix all along is still there. I guess maybe it has to be rear end related/PPF related. Pretty much anything up front that could be changed has, except for shock mounts, which look fine. Will do the FCM mounts when I upgrade springs.

Nikal Anti-seize,works on everything & is nuclear plant grade.I think that is good enough for a Miata.
