Seriously, it only weighs like 8lbs more and the car starts up twice as fast. I shit 8lbs. The modifications to make it fit are minimal and it's roughly the same cost as that Westco piece of shit if you order it online. Plus if you don't drive the car in the winter like me, it's designed for that kind of use.

Therein lies the problem. It's heavier, and requires modifications to make it fit. Add to that a new Westco battery would probably crank just as strong.

If you're worried about 8 lbs, get rid of your 1.8 brakes or ditch your intercooler. It's one of those things that is worth the weight hit, just like the aforementioned parts. Fuck Westco and fuck Mazda with their overpriced, underpowered batteries.

I have the Optima yellow top,even though it has less CCA's than the redtop,it's still more than the Mazda battery and the car just starts pretty much instantly when I turn the key.

Why would you want your car to start faster, I like to have some OP when the car starts up. I have a random battery from one of those big chain stores, it has a red top, it was cheap, and it's been good for 4 years now. Fuck a battery, you drive a manual transmission car, that bitch dies, you push start it...now go sit in hustlers lap.

I was going to buy the 680... until I realized the Odyssey 625 (jetski battery) weighs 2 pounds less, costs half as much, and rates higher in every single test category. The 625 worked great for me, just had to modify the cables to fit the battery terminals.

Put in a better battery that actually works. All of you that complain about weight so much just go and lose some weight yourself and you will be ok. It's also healthy for you. 8lbs shouldn't take long to lose.

i've had mine stone dead twice. just the other day in fact. left the door open for 3 days.

but i have a superfancy charger that desulfates and works miracles and it's brought it back to life twice.

but what's weird... is it wont charge the battery from dead every time. it takes a few tries for whatever reason. and sometimes I have to turn the parking lights on to load it up a little. but it's at 100% now. so... yes built to last DURALAST!

Anyway, I had a spare Optima laying around from a previous car and just stuck it in there. The car really does start faster, though. Plus, like I said, if you let it sit for a while like I tend to do it drains slower than other shit.

Fuck, I just checked the price of Red Tops online and they've gone up by like $40 since I bought mine. After tax the Duralast is like $92, compared to $140 shipped for a Red Top.

8 year warranty on the Duralast, too. Nice.

I don't care, though, my battery has 24" pythons and can bench press over 700 amps cold while your pussy ass batteries can't even bench 400. Bitches see that battery in my trunk and immediately ask to toss my salad.
