Starting problem when hot...HELP

my wife's 2000 miata, bone stock

starts up fine when cold, drives perfect when hot...no hiccups of any kind, no rough idle, no sputter upon accelerating nothing...

shut it down, run into the store to grab a soda, come out...

and it'll just turn over and over and over and over...without wanting to start.

changed wires/plugs thinking they were old(they looked original), car has 120,000 miles runs perfect once running, just doesn't wanna start when it's hot.

once you let it cool down a little, it'll start no problem.

BAD coil pack?

i wouldn't think it's the fuel pump or fuel filter since it shows no sign of sputtering or weakness while driving or when starting cold.

what else could it be? Any opinions? I don't want her to wait 45 minutes every time she parks the car somewhere...

Not sure if this will be help or not, but I know from running a Megasquirt that this is usually a setting in Coolant Related Air Density? Stock Miata translation: It might be your IAT sensor.
MiataTurbo.net Translation: Go onto a non forced induction miata forum such as:
The MX-5 Miata Pit Stop: MX-5 Miata.net
and ask there.

My 1990 would do that, and I replaced tons of parts. Turned out it was the coolant temp sensor on the rear of the motor. It had failed, and the ECU always thought the car was in cold mode or something, and yah, it would run awesome, then I'd go into the grocery store, come out, and just crank away.
