stock ecu idled some 550's today

rewired my stock ecu up ... 40 or so wires and fired it up today. I was surprised when it fired right up with my big injectors! Anyway, now that i know its running correctly, i am going to swap to my rebuilt motor and figure out wtf is going on with my megasquirt in a few months when my motor is broken in to my satisfaction. It will be really fucking loud with my glasspack exhaust though ... not looking forward to that

What do you mean when you say "rewired my stock ecu up ... 40 or so wires and fired it up today?"

He was having a lot of random issues with his standalone megasquirt, including erratic failure to start. So I take it that he yanked the ms and put the stock ecu back in.

Dang man, how in the heck does that work? Change anything or is it just the stock ECU with some AFM adjustments or something?
Swap that glasspack out for a magnaflow and not worry about the glasspack being loud.

no adjustments at all. It was however spitting fuel out the tailpipe ;)

Awesome. Keep it flowing.

I hope you change back to stock injectors before breaking in the new motor?

lol that goes without question. Im just crossing my fingers because for some reason i have this sense of impending doom with this rebuilt motor, even though i have been quite careful.

oh forgot to mention ive never built an engine before, so as the "girls gone wild" commercial says: "Its my first time!!"
