Stupid Airbag light part 2007
Okay I asked once...and the instant answer was pull the bulb or electrical tape is your friend.
What is the PROPER way of diagnosing the problem and fixing the damn issue. Also how do you keep it from flashing if you are going to replace the steering wheel with a momo or whatever. Right now, the stock Schlomo one is on there with the g'damn light blinking like a banshee. |
There is a way to jumper the connector with a resistor to make it think the airbag is there. If you do a search on m.net i bet you can find out what the resistor is.

finally a legit response
thanks...il take a look at that.
But as for diagnosing the damn issue...it just seems like a bloody crap shoot. |
Usually when you buy a replacement steering wheel they come with a chip to replace the airbag. It's possible to fix you just have to figure it out.

No thanks. |
Man, you just have to connect 2 wires with a resistor. Search for the thread(s) on m.net. Bill Wilner even has a kit for $20 or $30 that includes the ($.25) resistor in a PNP harness.
New guy, airbag troubleshooting procedures are in the garage section of miata.net |
For early airbag cars (90-93) you don't even need a resistor, just cut the connector off and splice the wires together.

It could be anything from a sensor that has come unplugged, a faulty wiring harness to a fried airbag computer. I have two codes in my '94, one points to the dash sensor, which isn't exactly easy to get to, the other for the computer lacking proper voltage. :-/ |
