Stupid Question... Real Answers?

Well I ordered a NACA duct and a spare headlight lid to carve up, the real question I have is this:

When looking at the front of the miata and considering TSI's I thought, wouldnt it be cooler to convert my turn signal assembly into a headlight assembly w/ retrofitted projectors and turn signals and use the "barndoors" as ram air ducts? Has anyone heard of someone doing anything like this? I would imagine there would undoubtably be benefits such as:

-No rain/random dust in the engine bay because you can open/close at will
-I mean.. no one else has em!

I always thought the turn signals were to low to use for headlights, wont pass saftey and emissions...

Hmm valid point.. never thought of that part... Then again I dont know how headlights pass emissions?!?! haha. No but I think I can get them through safety.

Plus, I think that the lens covers would melt from the heat. The whole turn signal box is made out of low intensity plastic. You would be right in the same boat as "FIREDOG" !

someone already thought of that...

Didn't that guy with the miata with the S2000 engine (Torik?) do that? If I recall he removed the headlight assemblies and made the parking lights into headlights.

I melted my turn signal lens with just a turn signal bulb.
