Supertrapp exhaust

Anyone on here using them? I went to a local rallycross event yesterday and I just loved the sound. Maybe cause its very similar to the carbed Reliant Kitten I had back home.

Now I've read a lot about the Supertrapp and people who've used it on NA engines seem to think they're too loud (high-pitch noise), but on a turbo car I think they'd be brilliant cause the high-pitched part of the sound is already attenuated by the turbo.

i use a supertrapp on my 62 jag xke, it sounds great, but very loud, there are plate you insert to change how loud it is... unfortunatley the more plate you put in, the quieter it is, and the more hp you lose. most events require 92dB or less, my xke makes 10hp more at the wheels running at 120dB then at 92dB... just food for thought

More plates = less backpressure = more noise.

So you got it backwards.

Not a great system unless you are going to drive a race car on the street, then you could swap the disks. I helped a friend dyno a 99 engine in his 91 car, and it lost 10rwhp between the number of disks he's allows on track (noise restrictions) and what is acceptable noise on the street. Street number of disks was the lesser.
