Switched 12 volt source
Please forgive my noobness.
Can anybody tell me where I can find a switched 12 volt source near the driver side of the engine bay to tap into for the EBC. Im already using the little blue wire near the headlight for my a/f gauge. Would it be alright to use the little blue wire for a/f gauge and EBC? |
The small blue diagnostics connector is what everybody uses.
|
Cool. So can I run both a/f gauge and ebc off of that one wire at the same time?
|
Also my fans are not working. I can hear the solenoid clicking over when I jump GRND and TFA in the diagnostic box but fans dont turn on.
|
checked all the fuses? try jumping the fans directly to a 12v source and see if it comes on.
|
Fuses are good. Gonna wait till theres light out to try your other idea but wanted to know something, I cant think right now. If the fans come on when jumped straight to a 12v source what does that mean?

I use that little blue connector for like 3 things, so yeah its ok.

It means the fans work half the wiring is good your girlfriend is cheating on you one side of the relay works maybe you should look at the sensor. Take pin 1R to GND at the ECM...if that turns the fans on then you can verify that everything is cool in the fan electronics behind the computer. I bet the relay is toast. lots of good info in hurr, if you have a 1.6. If you don't then well, we can't read your god damn mind so if you want us to fix your car for you then give us all the details. |
I'm guessing the relay is gone.

I figured it out! I cut the shrink wrap off and found out I must have been high when I did the soldering. Re soldered them and everything is fine. Now I'm gonna go through and check all my solders, paranoid.

There is a reason Mazda didn't use solder connections anywhere on the car, crimping ftw!
|
Ive actually heard that crimped connections, done correctly, are better than soldered ... I think i heard it from Jay lenno on one of his car collection shows.
