Default What is an MSM soft top with frame worth?

I removed my MSM soft top while I was doing a fuel pump swap. I never use it and leave the hard top on all the time. The first owner of the car did the same thing. What do you folks think a MSM cloth soft top with glass window and defroster is worth?
I would rather leave it off like I did on my last Miata. I live in Oregon so the hard top lives on my car year round.

If it’s in good shape they go for about $500. For a cloth one you might even get more.

For a used top? Is there something special about the MSM version?

I bought a Robbins canvas with glass rear window for about that same money. Granted it was 4 or 5 years back, but have prices gone up that much?

The MSM came with a canvas top with glass window. Nothing "special" just a nicer top than a standard vinyl one.

Thank you everyone!

You can get a brand new canvas glass-window Robbins top with a new rain rail pre-installed for $677+ship. There's no way a used one is worth $500 regardless of condition.

Is there really a market for softtop frames? I've thrown away good frames with shitty tops when building race cars more than once.

Truth. I thought they were scrap metal.

Thanks for the tag. Yea with shipping and all, and I don't need the frame.... Unless you want to separate it? even then, I'm trying to be my usually cheap *** self, and can get a new vinyl robbins with glass new for less than $350. Canvas is nice, I know, just cant really pony up that kind of cash for my toy car ATM.

I literally just sold a MSM cloth top with the frame and the appropriate strikers for $250 picked up last month. Probably could have gotten more but my disdain for selling things to miata tire kickers supersedes my desire to make an extra buck.

If I heard "will you take..." One more time I probably would have thrown it in the garbage.

I've never gotten more than $200 picked up for a miata top with frame, but i see lots of people saying you can get $400+ for them. I've just never seen that particular deal ever go down.

MSM tops aren't special. They came in both vinyl and canvas. Canvas came with the GT/leather package.

A minty fresh and so clean black canvas top would probably sell in the $300 area.

They are worth a couple bucks since some of the earlier ones are getting rattly. But yeah, most I have seen one go for is $50, $100 if it has good latches and window seals. Mine was free but was stripped.

A good top installed on a frame is worth something because people seem to think installing a top on a frane is hard.

Some folks pay a bit more for the soft top still on the frame if it's in good condition since it's a lot easier to install.

Wow, didn’t realize I’d spark such a debate. I say $500 because I had a really good condition one sell immediately for $350 picked up. So a better seller could probably get more.

$677 for a cloth top, plus how much for install? You’re looking at $1000+, maybe even $1500 to buy and have installed, so again, a GOOD condition top already on a frame would be a deal at $500 IMO.

However, id say 99% of NA and NB1 tops are not in good condition, and that figure only drops ~10% for NB2s.
