Tein Flex - where to buy?
Where have you guys found good pricing on Flex's?
Thanks, Chris |
Do a search on e-bay.

m.net forum sponsors. You pay more, but think of the "service" you get.
(ground control / koni or bilstein > tein) |
i second that hustler...i still havent gotten mine but id rather have ground control/koni shocks over the mad tight JDM Tein bro!

There will always be smart people on both sides of the GC/Tein argument, but for me, the Flex's seem to be a good way to go. C |

It's not really. It's more aimed at a sort of street performance/mild track use. Cheapest is going to be ebay. If you want to go through a dealer I like Adrenaline But that's also because They're local to me.
|
i got mine off ebay from kuruma motoring. came in very quick and were new in box.
|
I happen to like Emilio at 949. Nice guy, and he adds shipping in so you don't get some great surprise on the last page of the purchase process.
|
I bought my Teins from MiataRoadster and they gave me the best price after I price shopped. They even beat ebay once shipping was included. You would probably be even better off since I had to pay CA sales tax.
|
http://miataroadster.com/suspension.html? No Tein listed on their website. Do they sell them on eBay, or should I just contact them?
Thanks, Chris |
Might want to call 949 racing while you're at it and talk to Emilio about different spring rates. The default springs for the Flex are less than ideal. He has been working with Tein to use different rate off the shelf for the miata. Not sure where he is at in that discussion though.
|
I've read a bunch of Emilio's posts, and for double duty I think the stock rates will be fine. I realistically only get to a few track days a year, there are no tracks anywhere close to home, and I don't have a trailer, so while I'm going to build the car to be reliable enough for track time, I don't want it to beat me up when I'm driving it for pleasure. IOW, I'd rather leave a few seconds on the table than grit my teeth every time I hit an expansion joint.

I thought the same thing when I got mine, that the higher spring rates would beat me up daily driving the car, but they are really quite bearable on the street. I went with the 9/6 combo and couldn't be happier. Roads around here are shit too.
As for running a GC/Koni combo, you'll lose a fair bit of suspension travel. |

and koni shocks just plain ride like ass. either get them revalved or stick with the bilsteins. on that note, adrenaline racing has served me well with TEIN stuff. |

Thanks, Chris The "big new store" is still under construction. Soon, there will be shopping cart buttons for every part you could possibly want. If you look on the site's "Links" page, it lists all the brands we can get. For the time being, please email us for quotes on parts not shown in detail on the site. FYI, we are authorized dealer for both Stance and Tein, along with the other usual suspects. Stay Tuned! Bill |
^ Just to back up Bill, I emailed him this morning for a price on Flex's and he got back to me very quickly with a killer price.

+2 for 9/6 flex not being as bad as you think. plus you can use a rear sway bar with those rates. Which feels more neutrally balanced to me.
|
also try a dealer close to you. I bought mine with cash at a tein dealer in person for much cheaper than I could find them anywhere online.
