To those with the R pack lip . . .
How is yours holding up? I think I've had mine for less than a year and the finish looks like hell. There's a layer of crud or who knows what that's bubbled and peeling. Any ideas? I'm going to sand it and hit it with flat black when I paint the rest of the car, but it seems like it held up pretty shitty for an OEM piece.

I painted mine with spraypaint. When it starts to chip ill paint it again. Easy fix. I do want that splitter from TDR though that will help protect it.

I've had one which was painted red/blue previously, so I shot it black with some various things.... Never lasted long, always went down with stone chips etc. I've got a "new" one now, which is still the OEM plastic finish. Although, it's got scratches in it, and some other things, it's not like its difference colours.... So for me, it's better, since you don't see the "cone" damage. <G> Just shoot yours with some more paint... Just remember though... the first steep driveway, curb, etc... it will be crap again. <G> Dave, |
Why not sand it down to bare plastic?

I bought mine used and it was painted. I spend a couple of hours with a scotch brite pad and got all the paint off. Then wet sanded with 2000grit sand paper. Time consuming, but it does look good, but then everything looks good on a black car!
