Tie Rod Ends
This is for my SAAB swap. The original car was a 94R. as I understand the R's had a different tie rod end-maybe more angle due to being lower and to reduce bumpsteer. This is also alluded to in this ad. Mazda OEM "R" Model Tie Rod End and Ball Joint Anyway I need to replace them. Do I need/want to use R specific tie rod ends or would any of the models work fine? Car will be slightly lower than stock and will be tracked a few times a year as well as being street driven. They are a bit more expensive than standard Moog parts but at least in the ad they are stated as being OEM. I'm not sure if the above link is the cheapest place to buy them. It's the first that I came upon.
It's fun finally buying some parts as this is coming to an end of construction. |
93LE/94R got a different tirerod end to improve bumpsteer. It is absolutely a desirable part and worth spending some extra money on.

I've been waiting to do these on my car, Revlimiter/Adam has some stuff in his blog about them, worth a read if you don't believe

If there is a non-mazda part number I've never seen it. The mazda ones are pretty cheap anyways.

I assume these will go on the regular tie rod ends fine?
OEM Mazda Number for those searching: N021-32-280A |
Rosenthal is $62.44 ea for the R ends. Looks like I'll go that route.
