Reputable cam mfgs. can't even make a cam that produces a noticeable difference on a stock head Miata. What in the **** makes you think OBX does?

if cams dont make any HP differences on a "stock" miata head.... then why are there people on MT.net buy camshafts for anyways?

IMO, this only pertains to streetable N/A cars. There are lots of treads pertaining to cam selection and cam timing for FI cars on m.net that are very interesting. I'll get my webcam505s installed one of these weeks. I can't see how the increased lift won't do anything good.

i believe one of the members claimed his project was suppose to do up to a 9k revlimit? i forgot the name... but i asked him about rods/pistons i believe...

anyways, he said the camshafts were suppose to help him reach a higher RPM range without blowing anything up *shrugs*

i mean.... i doubt OBX **** is reliable.... i was WONDERING if anyone's tried it on their car

i myself am probably gonna get the web cams when i'm good and ready to get the valve spring kit with it

If I didnt fear the OBX cams would warp, i'd buy some.

Why would a cast iron camshaft warp?

Well ok... but I'm pretty sure you don't have to worry about them warping.

they may not warp, break, or fail in anyway I don't trust their metallurgy, or their R&D if any.....but it's obx A quick google search resulted in a few failed cams.

DAMNIT brain, u beat me to it, everyone's beating me at my game today :;( could be the insomnia... i guess we can use my thread as a reference for all the new people that come walking in wondering about OBX cams

has anybody been able to contact obx? they took their phone number off the site and not returning any emails!
to any company not willing to back what they sell.

had the stage 2's in my engine for maybe 3k and decided to take a peak. sure enough melted away the vtec lobe and started to wear down the rocker arms. can post pics if anyone wants, but i think everyone gets the point.

i dont trust anything obx,

i bought an exhaust manifold for one of my cars from them once

1. bolt pattern did not line up, was coaxed into it with dremel
2. whole exhaust mani did not line up, nothing a hammer didnt fix
3. dp hanger in wrong place, as well as o2 bung moved 2 feet down the track
4. bolts to cat did not line up, and the header it self was 2 inches to short....

never,, ever,, again

my 2 cents

You're talking about me most likely, and I didn't say anything about "blowing up" in the higher revs. The cams are so that I actually can carry my tq into the higher revs.

So *shrugs* to you....

Cool

Well, I hate to say it but I have the OBX cam in my car, no problems thus far. An it seems to make power up top. My dyno is posted on m.net under dyno's named "Big turbo, small boost" From what I hear from what has been posted I think im going to switch to HKS/or Toda cams, and save my self the hassle.
