Time for wheels.
Yeah, I'm running dangerous old "Beijing Tyre Factory" tires (seriously) on the stock daisies that came with the car.
This isn't working out. lol. I love Emilio's 6UL's, but they are a bit out of my price range. I guess I'm looking for recommendations on a good 250whp capable wheel/tire combo for around $1000. Any suggestions? What are you guys running? :) -Trent |
You're going to want to be able to run 225 wide tires with 250 hp. The only cheaper option for 15x8s is the sportmax 002 but they're 0 offset and look like ass unless they're dropped, tucked, and your fenders are either pulled or flared. Not a good option.
The 6ULs are worth saving money for. I love them and you can't make a much better wheel choice, they're cheaper than forged, only 13lbs, strong, and they will fit large rubber. If you just want to upgrade wheels and tires, get some Konig Heliums 15x7s and Falken Azenis RT615s in 205/50r15. You'll break loose in 2nd all the time at 250 hp but you'll be better off than you are now. Pretty sure the heliums come in 15x7s. Both of them are cheap and within your budget range. |
Im running a 16x7 rim with 215's all around. Falken ziex's or whatever.

cjernigan, believe me: this is something that has been driving me nuts for a WHILE now. I want to be able to run 225 series rubber. Emilio did the work to make sure that would fit on an 8" rim without fender rolling. I respect that a LOT, and it's probably what I'll end up going with.
This car is quickly becoming a money pit though. I was going to try and save a little money on wheels, but I guess.................go big or go home. |
Go Big. :)
6ul's ordered from 949racing. RS2's ordered from edgeracing. All I really needed was some encouragement. :p |
Konig heliums are 6.5" Save your money dude. I have the Heliums with 205 RS2's and at 8 psi they dont hold.

ouch, not so nice, but then again there are heavier and smaller wheels out there
i would just assume ROTA would make a very light weight wheel...but a 15X8 at 14.7lbs is not bad either...im just rambling |
Once you see the 949's in person, you can't resist them. They are worth the slightly extra money. I'm either getting those or used te-37 from a friend.

if i didnt get a screaming deal on my 15x7.5 SSR's i would have ended up with some 949 ul's
