Torn window - temp fix?

Does anyone know of a way I could temporarily fix a giant whole in the rear plastic window of a 97 miata? All of my quotes from places have been over $500 to replace. I was thinking along the lines of a cut out and tape plastic solution that wouldn't leak...not sure if anyone has done anything like this before to fix their window.

more boost?

Agreed, no boost yet, just bought the car. '97 with 70k miles for 5k.

Clear duct tape

It's not exactly "invisible", but you at least get all the light transmission.

Mine had a small rip and I just used clear packing tape to fix it. But it was only about 2" long.

I drove around with a clear tape window for a winter. It started to suck near the end, but it held up for a few months no problem.

I stitched mine back into the hood with spiderwire then used duct tape ^^

Worked like a charm.

I have a feeling your winters do not see subzero temperatures? We frequently will have at a minimum many sub 20* winters.
