tranny and diff are now out of car, but now it has now power?
 

stupid question:

I took the tranny and diff out of my car. I reconnected the battery because I wanted to get GPS data out of my dash, and there is no power to anything. no brakes, turn signals, fuel pump, etc. All the engine bay harnesses are still attached.

Is this because the starter isn't connected or something? or do I all of a sudden have a new issue? I removed a bunch of wiring for headlights etc, but nothing very invasive.

Just figured I'd try and figure out if I had an issue before my tranny and diff came back from the shop...

go look at the ppf - or did you send that away as well with the tranny and ear end ?

Looking at a wiring diagram for a 91, it looks like one line of power goes from positive side of battery to starter then to ignition so probably just wiring the starter back in should do the trick.

Yeah - did you pull the main ground from the ppf near the diff?

The PPF came out of the car with the tranny and diff. Didn't realise that was the main ground strap for the car?

I didn't disconnect the wiring from the starter, I just disconnected the battery during tranny removal.

Yep- that lead at the rear runs to the battery.
