TRm C1M review.

This is just an fyi for those considering the 15x7 TR motorsport wheel over a 6ul or enkei (These have a +30mm off/set) or any wheel of the like.

Obviously the Tr's are not as light. But @13.2lbs and $89. per wheel; its a nice compromise imo. I weighed them with the kumho tires 205/50/15 and they came in at 33.8lbs. They look sweet as hell. I love the way the 30mm put the tires at flush with the wheel well. I had some ugly and heavy ass konig theory wheels on it. The car felt lighter and accelerated quicker.

I am in a 1996 and at stock ride height. I Have had no issues with any kind rubbing at all. I also have stock allignment. To all of you who offered help in my other post, I put this post up so we will be 100% on the mark for the next person to search and find this.

I feel 100% that there would be nothing to worry about if I lower it just alittle bit. Not sure what I would drop down to though.
Anyway thanks again.

Got any pictures for us? I only wish the 15x9 were the C1 design, instead of the uglier C3 design. Looking at their site, why is a light gray 15x9 .2 lbs lighter than a bright silver painted wheel?

As much as I love the 6ul and would love to have a set, these might be in my Miata's future for track day wheels. Unfortunately $249 for the 15x8s and $160 difference for the 15x7 is just too much to overlook. I really hope 949's cheaper 6ul is out by the time I'm ready to buy.

agree with what you said.. I'll probably get the C3Ms for their size, but wish they had them in that C1/C1M design!

I will have some up tomorrow.

I am in the same boat as you. I have been drualling over the uls for a long time but I just can't afford them. These look almost just like them. I got the bright silver ones. From 10ft away the almost look chrome.

I'm just going to throw my 2 cents in here regarding the TRM wheels. I have the C1s which will be going on my BMW (25mm offset, slightly larger hub bore). From what I can tell, the hubs are incorrectly machined and will not work with spacers out of the box. The chamfer is the correct pitch, however, it isn't deep enough to accept a standard hubcentric ring. Luckily I get the 'family discount' at the machine shop that does all of the work for our fishing vessels, so getting the spacers machined to fit the wheels isn't a big deal, but it appears that you get what you pay for.

I am a big fan of these wheels though. Cheap, good looking, and reasonably light. If my hacked together setup doesn't work (hard to find wheels in the correct offset for this car) without a little massaging, I can live with that.

My buddy daniel has a set of the TR wheels i like the fit and finish for the price and they look and work very well under his NA 91.

curly 10-02-2010 05:00 AM

Those prices were the difference between 4 15x9 6uls and 4 15x9 tr wheels, and 4 15x7 of each.

need moar boost.

blackna 10-03-2010 12:25 PM

Yes. Definately. I want to rebuild the motor first. Its got 123k on the clock. It feels real strong though. I mean she pulls and runs great. I would feel better with a rebuit motor with lower compression so I can run more boost.

Bond 10-03-2010 12:28 PM

4x4

curly 10-03-2010 12:56 PM

VASH?! VASH! Is that you?!?

If there aren't any leaks and compression is good, your motor will easily handle boost as is.

blackna 10-03-2010 02:30 PM

Bond. YES.LOL. Thats next.

Cury. I agree. We'll see.
