Default can you recommend a good car transport company?

I need to transport my SSM (to be turbo'd) race car from baltimore to minnesota.

I put a bid request on the Uship website ... and am being bombarded by calls and emails ranging from $600 to $1500, each one telling me they are great and everyone else is sh*t

Can any one recommend a cheap but reliable transport company?
What issues should I look for when assessing bids??

Cheers
SM

I didn't hire them myself, but I helped a friend ship a couple cars through this company, and they seemed to do OK: http://agapetransport.com/

Make sure you check into insurance coverage before you ship the car, find out what coverage the transport company has and what is and is not covered by your insurance.

I shipped my Miata from Houston to Boise. The only thing I would have done differently is remove the front plate holder. It got smashed and dinged the nose (I don't even use it anymore). Won't be an issue for your racecars, but might help someone else reading this.

And . . . drum roll please . . . I just made "Senior Member"!!!

I used DAS from Cali to Baltimore (port to port, not door to door) for my current Miata when I bought it off ebay and had no problems. Price was the cheapest when I used them.

I'm sure they're quite a bit more expensive now given the increased cost of fuel.

I used a company a few months back to ship my dad's 1957 T-bird from Connecticut to Utah and everything went perfectly.

Unfortunately when I look here on the paper I have the phone numbers and names of the guys I was working with, but that's about it. I made a note of US Transporters INC. next to it, but when I google the company I cant find much info.

I did the same thing though, put out a job and let the quotes all come to me. After speaking with at least 15 other companies I decided on these guys and it all went smooth and exactly as planned. I will def use them again if I have another car to ship.
