turbo pcv valve

i just want to know if there really is one? and do i need one? where can i get it if i need one?

Bryce 02-21-2008 11:48 PM

Go to the dealer, or Rosenthal or Trussville Miata and ask for one off a 323 GTX.

The stock one won't keep boost out of your crankcase after 3-4 psi which = Bad.

mike_671 02-21-2008 11:49 PM

all i have is greddy does that still mean i need to get one

mike_671 02-21-2008 11:50 PM

whats a 323 gtx?

cjernigan 02-21-2008 11:51 PM

Mazda dealer, 323 gtx turbo PCV. Call up finishline performance get it from tommy. He sells them.

Edit: The 323 was a model mazda, small car with the same motor as the miata.

depending on dealer and location,
and takes no more than 15 seconds to change..

NA PCV is straight, atleast the 1.6s i think. The NBs use a 90* outlet pcv.

Rosenthal has added this item to the miata maintenance parts category at their online shop. It even mentions turbo miata guys in the description.

Thats the part number.

I got mine the other day. Decided to test it out so I blew into one end and funny stuff... If you blow lightly it lets air through but blow hard and it locks. I found that out the hard way. I blew so hard to test it that I crapped myself.

$7.69 at NAPA.

I've gone through (4) non-oem valves, they suck donkey dick.

ApexOnYou 02-22-2008 06:47 PM

So I'm assuming that if you run the stock PCV valve, you will most likely have excessive oil consumption from the crank case being pressurized under boost? I never got around to changing mine and after going turbo, put on 15k @ 10psi and I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. :dunno:

Thanks for the info, I ordered mine today!

After finding even the GTX PCV leaks at above 7psi I stuck a weber carb check valve in line with mine - works pretty well and it holds back up to 25psi so shouldn't cause me any more problems I don't think!
