Turbo Question
 
I noticed that there was some oil pooled in the flange that enters the compressor housing on my GT2560R (coming from the intake filter). I installed a catch can, and this drastically cut down on the amount of oil that was showing up in there, however, there is still some accumulation.
The blades spin very freely, no side-to-side play, very little in-and-out play, so that tells me that it's a normal ball-bearing turbo in good shape, so not bad seals that I can tell, but I'll admit, I'm not an expert on turbos.
Should I be concerned, or should I start looking into rebuilding/replacing a turbo?

find out if it's coming from the turbo or the crankcase.

could be drainage issues, too much oil pressure, bad seals.

how is your pcv lines routed?

For the PCV, there is a filter on the valve cover, and the line on the intake manifold is capped.

sounds like the only way oil could enter is from the compressor side seal of the turbo.

try running a line from the crankcase breather line to the intake.

I'll give that a shot then.

Also, don't quite remember what the numbers were, but the engine was good and the numbers were close to even when compression tested.
There feed and return oil lines are not kinked.
I did the basic troubleshoot, now I can't figure it out.
I did read somewhere that Corky Bell suggested that it might be a good idea to move from a -4AN feed line to a -3AN feed line. Wondering if that might be a solutionas well since it's such a small amount of oil showing up in there.

You could also try a cheap restrictor in the form of a 1.8" aluminum poprivet at the AN fitting at the turbo. It is a .075 hole and will drop the oil pressure about 8-9 psi at peak oil pressure. Worth a shot maybe and cheaper than a -3 line. If the restrictor works with the crankcase breather hooked up as well, talk to Bandit and buy the sweet -4 .06 restrictor he sells.

I was thinking about a restrictor as well, but in that same thread that I mentioned, and I can't find it now for the life of me, it read that Corky highly recommends against using a restrictor on BB turbos. Thus the smaller feed line. Input?
