Uhm, interesting issue

So, Hopefully you guys can help me out on this one...

I was driving home from work tonight, when as i hit the brakes and put the clutch in to downshift my brake light on the gauge cluster dimly lit up. I figured it was my brake fluid being low, which turned out not to be the case. As I kept driving I realized that it comes on now every time I put the clutch in.

My thought is a wiring issue, any ideas on where to start looking?

There's a sensor in the MC to tell when the brake fluid is low, check it's plug. That light also comes on with the e-brake. Take the center console, plastic cover, and carpet off and see if anything is loose there. Not sure why it has anything to do with the clutch, but any scrap of metal or coin down their could trigger the light.

when you clutch and brake you probly shift your weight slightly back and to the right. This could have you burshing the ebrake and, as curly mentioned if something is loose the light will come on.

take the bulb out and forget about it ?

How "not low" is not low? Maybe the fluid is just barely at the point that any deceleration causes the sensor to start indicating low fluid :dunno:

The brake reservoir is at full, and as I drove I specifically moved myself away from the Ebrake. If I held the clutch in, the light would stay on. As soon as I released the clutch it would go out, If it was a quick shift it would quickly blink, I know it has nothing to do with actual brake components.

Might sound silly, but did you check the clutch fluid? Since it's brake fluid could it be wired to the brake "light"?

Dave,

I knew it was low, and filled it this morning. issue is still there.

It's a bit of a stretch, but do you have cruise control?
