Default Crush bends FTL

I was pondering why my car seemed to be low on power compared to the other greddys at the same boost level (15psi) and realized my Tony DP had been modified with 2 crush bends.

Any idea how much power and spool this is sapping me of? I died a little when I took these pictures. I'm also wondering what a reasonable price would be if I took the DP to a shop and had them weld in mandrel bends.

+1 I'd be more worried about the oil than those two little bends, they probably aren't hurting you much if at all.

Leaking CAS O-ring.

Then why have I read a mandrel bent 2.5 is better than a crush bent 3?

butt dyno says it makes no difference at all. it really doesn't matter. these aren't pro level race cars. you will never be able to feel the 2whp difference it "might" make, so why worry about it?

bad crush bends that you have to worry about look like accordions on the inside of the bend.

That doesn't look like the DP I had made by Tony. Don't remember the welds looking as shitty or any three bolt flanges.

Got it from Keinayo, who got it from M2cupcar I think. I don't know why it was modified.

I'd have a shop weld in some mandrel bends. + 2.245 HP FTMFW.

I could never find my oil leak...then i pulled the motor and realized the headgasket was leaking like..um...I can't really compare this unreplicated leakage level.

My 3 inch exaust has the crappy bends. But hey it is 3inch exaust cheap. And Im sure it flows better than a smaller pipe. I'm not trying to be a top fuel dragster. Seat of the pants O'meter is what matters. I wouldn't spend the money on the switch.

But life is short. Do what makes you Happy.
