Default Dash Gauge problem. Gauges are dead.

We bought this 1990 Miata, None of the gauges work except the speedo. But we all know the speedo is cable driven anyway. And even further the blinkers don't work.

We have checked all connections and fuses, they seem good. I called Mazda and asked if there was a cluster relay.

He said there is one cluster relay that works the blinkers and various other un-named things.

I guess I'll try swapping that out tonight after we get it back from paint. And if that doesn't work, I'll be back to checking it with the light poker. lol

Does the signal go through the ECU, I have 2 spares? I will swap one in a heartbeat. It is crimped for a 185 lbs guy upside down, under the steering wheel, looking for connections. LOL

Has anyone else had "This Problem?"

DUDE! The EXACT same thing just happened to me yesterday. I went to a meeting for work. I got there early, so I was waiting in the parking lot and all of the sudden all the gauges stopped working. They were just sitting like the car was off. Then I realized later when I was driving home, that my blinkers didn't work either.

I'm going to swap the cluster relay tonight. If it works i'll be sure to post it fast.

I found a post that there is a major ground that goes to one of the walls under the drivers side dash. Some guy said that could be it.

But mine isn't loose. And I also had switched my dd cluster into it. Same thing.

Well, it will be tommorrow before I can check the relay. Paint was finished today so it has to cure till tommorrow.

Dude... it sucks not driving with blinkers. I know I'm going to get pulled over.

I was checking all my fuses and none are blown.... so I don't know what it is. Starting to think it might be a loose ground, but I didn't see any when I was checking the fuses.
