Maybe I'm a big sissy boy but I'm pulling these out. Even if they "break in" a bit, I can't imagine these being acceptable. This is not the direction I'm going with my car. It's too damn loud in there, really. I can deal with the vibrations, but it sounds like a damn bass drum in my hardtop only car. I can barely hear my FM 3" exhaust (which is pretty quiet though). I'm picking up some comps and calling it a day.
Maybe try doing a hybrid? (i.e. swap out left side to be a mazda-comp rubber one rather than removing both). According to supermiata's product page for their hybrid of AWR/rubber it "allows only a tiny bit more vibration than two Mazda Comp rubber mounts but with about 80% less engine movement"
Less harsh? which AWR did you have? Because just by looks these seem quite a bit more tough.
I've never run anything apart from stock, and I'm swapping a new motor somewhere next year. Planning on 250+ whp daily. Got a suggestion?
I went with the Cadillac option.. what ever that means. I had 80 AWR.
Got comps and installed them. Much better. If you want your car to be a street car, I probably wouldn't recommend these V8R mounts unless you truly don't care at all about NVH. Shifting quality pretty much correlates directly with NVH, but the shifts are still decent with the comps (especially with my delrin diff bushings in back). I've now used stock mounts, MSM mounts, 62 duro V8R and mazda comps. Here's how I'd rate them for NVH with 1 being stock and 10 being solid mounted (most NVH possible):
Stock: 1
MSM: 2
Comps: 3.5
V8R 62 duro: 8

I thought about going hybrid but this is just way too much NVH for me. Plus it would tank the resale of the unused mount to just sell one. They will probably be going in the for sale section tonight when I take some pics.
Truth be told, I still would prefer a mount a little bit stiffer than the comps. It doesn't appear that anything exists between these and the V8R mounts. The V8R appears to have the biggest and softest bushing size. Big jump in NVH, great performance though. It's a call you have to make I guess.
Back from post 75. I installed the updated passenger side plate and put the motor in. Motor was leaning bad. I called Shandelle and he sent me 2 new plates in about 2 days. I have a lift and have become a regular Houdini putting these in,lol. I hope I can tolerate the Nvh. The new plates had a slightly different tilt also. He sounded confident that they had a handle on this now.
