Vacuum line replacement questions
I'm getting ready to dig into the engine compartment and replace a bunch of parts. I figured while I'm in there I could clean it up a bit and do some preventive maintenance and replace the vacuum lines with silicone lines. Just asking if someone else has done this and knows what inner diameter hose I'll need, and about how much of each. Just don't want to re-invent the process and figured it would be good info for others to know as well.
Thanks in advance. |

Thanks in advance. Personally, I would just make my own. siliconeintakes.com has hoses of all sizes. As for size, get a tape measure and figure it out. Or as my boss would say: RTFM (Read the fucking manual, ie google it). |
4mm hose has worked fine for me. Just went and double checked with a fresh bag of 4mm hose and a spare mani for giggles. Slips on tight and for boosted I put little spring clamps on all of them.
Sure these guys can hook you up: Doap Industries - Homepage Intercooler Pipe Fabrication - Silicone Intake Systems Auto Parts or others. It's cheap and 10ft will do a whole car short of things with really long lines like Jeeps. |
Thats what I needed to know. I just didn't want to buy a bunch of line that I wouldn't use.
Thank you |
I was able to pick up a "kit" with 10,8,6,4 mm ID silicone hose for about $30 from the link above. Thank you again.

Welcome. If that kit come with what it says it should, would do probably 2 Miatas or more. I think the charcoal can is 10mm or 8mm. Just about everything is mostly 4mm maybe some 6mm. I'd have to check, but 4mm is most of the bay if I remember correctly.
