Value???
I have a chance to buy a 1993 base red miata from a family friend he's the only owner, the car is bone stock with 11,000 miles. Any idea of a real value before I offer a price? The car has never seen snow or even rain.
Thank guys |
Look at www.kbb.com, which is kelly blue book's web site. You can enter in the year, make, model, mileage, and options for nearly any car to find a value, depending on the condition you enter. Prices for that particular 11,000 1993 Miata range from $2900 in fair condition to $3600 in excellent condition. It sounds like the car you're describing is in excellent condition. So $3600.

But you could easily sell for $15k on m.net to some old guy that doesnnt get lovinng

I sold a 20-something thousand mile Miata a few years ago for about $7k.
Kind of sad, but I no longer remember what year it was or the exact odometer reading, but it was an all original 1.6 era car in the 20k mile range. |
I looked at KBB but was wondering because of the rare condition/mileage if the real world value would be more than the KBB listing.
|
I was going to say $5-7K. This is definitely an outlier situation, which KBB isn't really meant to cover (although KBB does have a factor to try and account for low mileage). You can certainly show them the KBB value, and see if they'll take it. An always-garaged, 11K mile '93 Miata for $3,600 seems like an amazing deal.
You will have some maintenance to attend to though. But it should be easy stuff. |
I guess I missed the sale.... I talked with them this morning about the car (wasn't even listed) and called back just a few mins ago. I guess the neighbor bought it for $3500. Damn it!!!!
