I've installed my Walbro still maintaining the funnel on the stock hosing.
taken out the factory pump plactice spacers and O rings. Although the Walbro pump was abit longer than the OEM pump, but I was manage to get the unit in the bottom bracket without the soft plastic bushing. |
Sweet, now come help me install mine....
|
dude it takes 15-30mins. Bring it down to the meet on sunday and I'll do it.

Just put mine in (190HP), pretty easy. Mine's a '93 so I had to cut off the funnel, other than that it's a breeze.
Remember to de-pressurize before you start. Also plan for a little fuel to leak out of the lines when you disconnect them up top. I angled them upward and they stopped leaking. |
Easy Easy Easy. For the mechanically disinclined this is simple. I've replaced these on other vehicles that were sickeningly difficult. Had to drop the gas tank, etc.
Question. Bought mine 2nd hand. On the stock pump the bottom of the unit is cast metal. On the walbro it's plastic. My 2nd hand unit had the bottom post for the little retainer broken off. Think running a little screw into the plastic would be a problem to hold the filter sleeve intake unit? |
