Waterpump leak?

ok I think the waterpump is finally leaking, everytime I drive the car when I go to park there ends up being a small puddle of coolant under the car after a couple minutes. The hoses aren't leaking and most of the wetness I'm seeing in the engine bay is toward the bottom and all over the plastic undertray. So, is this the waterpump finally giving up? :td:

Maybe it's just marking its' territory:werd:

Sure sounds like it. That's what mine started to do. Turned out to be the water pump gasket, but all the same.

That's exactly what mine did when it went. The puddles slowly got bigger and bigger, every time I parked.

It's a lot of fun to replace it, though.:bigtu:

gay

figures! Yeah the puddles do keep getting bigger and bigger. What exactly is going bad with the gasket anyways?

It is more probably that it is the water pump weeping. They do that when they are beginning to go bad. Mine started leaking because the PO did the jump previously, and didn't have the gasket fully aligned, and he put a bolt through it, which made it really thin at that spot. When I bought the car, it hadn't run very much, so my guess is it dried out and just broke through. Regardless, you'll have to do a water pump job. It's pretty easy, just make sure to do the timing belt while you're in there, and do a good job aligning the gasket.

haha its always something with my car isn't it? sheesh

Oh well, it probably needs it anyways since the car has 95k miles and has been boosted for over half of that!

The way I look at it, you can never have a perfect car. If you fix everything, something else breaks. That's why I still have a leaky power steering rack; I figure that as long as something is gone wrong, I'm in the clear for a while. Knock on wood.
