so im installing megasquirt soon with lc 1 wideband can i just take out my stock o2 sensor and swap them or do i need both? how should i go about doin this

The LC-1 has two output wires so yes you can run one to your gauge with higher voltage for WB air/fuel ratio and run the other to your ecu for standard NB signal....read through the manual of the LC-1 and the above link for MS

so whats the best way to hook it up and is the stock greddy downpipe location okay? or i read it needs to be further downstream??????

Having it too close to the turbo will shorten it's life due to the extreme heat. You want the sensor mounted further down, before the flex section in your DP.
LC1 grounds need to be the same as your stock ECU and you can get 12v switched power all kinds of places. I like to get "add-a-circuits" from autoparts stores though and tap into the fuse box, it's clean and works well.

so i should just have a muffler shop weld the bung for me? and plug the old one? and i dont have a flex section in my downpipe it just attaches to the factory downpipe? so wehere do i put it then?

Put it like 10" from the flange, it needs to be atleast 10* above horizontal, mine is nearly vertical.
Whoever can do it cheapest for you. They should have 3/8" NPT plugs for you as well to plug the narrowband hole or you can just leave the stock sensor in there.

If I remember I'll try and snap a photo of where my O2 is mounted.

I kept the narrowband in the stock location, and had a local midas weld in the new bung for $20, remember to mark the exact location you want the bung welded in and to bring cash as this isn't a big enough job for them to put on the books.

Why does it matter if its horizontal or vertical?

Is there anyway to have an AFR Gauge, a signal sent to the factory ECU, and a signal sent to MS all at the same time?

I ask because I would like to have my MS log AFR, ECU needs it for emissions, and a gauge to monitor while I drive.

they have ya mount them at least 10* above horizontal to prevent water from accumulating in the sensor.

as for the signal questions, LC-1 has two outputs. you can set one for a narrowband simulation, and send that to the stock ECU. set the second one for linear 0-5V and wire that to both MS and to an AFR gauge. done. :-)

yep. shouldn't be a problem to run the 0-5v output to two places. then you can have the best of both worlds.
