Weird clicking/hitting noise front right side
i've heard about the notorious lifter tick but i'm pretty sure its not that, it almost sounds like a stick hitting my front right wheel, as i go faster it gets faster and slower it gets slower, i know its not the motor because i parked it in my garage and gave it some life revs and it wasnt making the sound. it happens like 80% of the time while driving, most other people that ride with me dont notice it too much but it bugs the crap outta me haha, i tried to look to see if anything was in the way but i didnt see anything, probably going to jack the car up tomorrow after work to see if i can diagnose anything, until then, does anybody have any ideas or anything that it might be?

Rock stuck in the tyre?

that was the first thing i checked, nothing.

"Life revs" are nguyen. Get us some audio, use the shift key to capitalize a few "me me me" words, and we will fix this problem for you.
|
any popping noise while backing up at full steering lock?
|
My first guess would be wheel bearing.
|
if its speed related, but not related to the engine engaged to the transmission or the engine speed, then its likely something physically hitting and or spinning with the wheel.
Wheel bearings tend to make clicking noises, so that is a possibility. Other things include rocks or pebbles stuck between the dust shield and the rotor, or the rotor and hub, etc. etc. (i have had the last case happen before). |
Possibly some plastic under panels. Wind may be pushing it into the wheel if you are missing some bolts.

raise each front tire, shake well in all four directions, listen for clink
check lug nuts |

Your cheapness does not justify manslaughter - and there is a difference between "cheapness" and "frugality". |
yeah that's uber weak. Incorrect brake pads on the biggest brakes on the car (because the rears are pretty useless) is just asking for trouble. You can get new pads for like $35. Hell go to a wrecker and get used ones for $5.
|
That will eat into the calipers and wear the disc the wrong way. Not a good idea to wait. Cheap pads are cheap!
|
what else on your car is done half assed
|
it is not both sides, just the front right, thanks for the constructive criticism and advice though, not so much for the smartasses. i didnt know having the wrong brakes could instantly make me a murderer, i should definitely be more careful, no seriously though i'll get new brakes asap. i <3 trolls

not meant as criticism, you got to ask yourself what else was not done correctly, for your safety, the safety of your passengers, and fellow drivers
hey, this is MT.net not M.net; discussions here are very to the point |
