what a friggin day.

So rember that thread I made about how long untill my 1.6L diff blows?

Well it did today.

I floored it in first, and BOOM PUING *car shakeing, rear tires lock*. Oh I was overjoyed with happyness, espically because it happened about 14 miles away. Hopefully I can get it trailered back tommorow.

So what should I do? I really dont have the $$ for a 1.8L diff... this sucks lol.

Uh, sell your kidney if you haven't already and opt for the 7". At least you weren't going faster, or turning, or further from home. I would hate to spend any money on just replacing the weak link of your drivetrain.

don't bother with another 1.6, you'll break it again, more money wasted. you gotta go 1.8 you just gotta come up the cash somehow, whore yourself or something. i went with a 1.8 torsen before i blew my 1.6 so i could sell the 1.6 vlsd, got like 200 or 250 for it, can't remember.

So, have you accessed the damages yet? Did the ring and pinion die and possibly not take the case with it? If so, maybe you could doctor that one back up to get by until you have funds for the 7".

the case looks fine. Feels like a few teeth ripped off the ring gear.

Gosh selling the hardtop is so tempting.

Hard to give up a hard top that is paid for. Cheap ones are a PITA to find. This isn't a daily driver is it? Save up for that 1.8 man.

Come on....that's an easy one! Your in PA, spring is a couple days away....and then summer! You don't need a hardtop when its warm/hot....you always need a torsen! :) I'd sell it and find a Torsen....and buy something else for the car. I think I paid 700 for everything. Good luck!

Hey man, I've got a buddy with a 1.6 rear he'd sell for little to nothing. Lemme know and I'll call him, its even out of the car.
