Doing a RWD swap on my 94 Escort GT and need help about the Miata drive train. I'm using a 94 Miata JDM 1.8l BP and transmission but not the rear differential(Mazda 323 GTX) Looking to use the angles to prevent unbalance drive shaft and wearing out universal joints quickly. Suggestions,tips,specs would be greatly appreciated.

In fact, every Miata driveshaft I've ever pulled seems to have a discernible wear "notch" in the U-joints -- that's how little movement there is in the drivetrain.

We dont have an angle spec, its literally a measurement from the frame rails to the bottom of the PPF at the front. So you're not going to find an angle in a manual. You need someone to be awesome and throw a digital level on the driveshaft.

Set your pinion angle as you would in any RWD car that requires it. The fact that you are using a BP makes no difference. A U joint is a U joint. A mustang or camaro forum may be a better source for information, or maybe the V8miata forum as those guys get rid of the PPF and have to set their pinion angle somehow.

Incidentally, the measurement Leafy mentions is 2.6" +/-0.2". Had to look it up yesterday.
