Ford Escot GT L/B vs. Capri Turbo L/B
Which would you choose? I have a '97 (MT) with a dead motor that needs to get back on the road...
Local Pull-A-Part has an Escort GT Auto ('95) with 106K on it, LB there is 250.00 complete. Drivers door was recently bashed-in, so I figure that is why it is there. I can hook up a battery and put on a compression tester to confirm the motor is good...
Also saw a Capri Turbo with an unknown number of miles for $1K complete, I thought I might buy it and part it online. From what I understand, it is hard to find parts for these cars. The car has had the top down for an unknown number of days, I think I might get it much cheaper, even if it ran because of that.
I've looked around on here and see there are a few small things I will have to change on the Escort motor to work with my '97, but have yet to search on the Capri T motor yet; is one more favorable than the other?
Thanks for your time.

The crapi is just a b6 with a turbo... which is what the 1.6 Miata is w/o the turbo. $1k is too much for a broken capri turbo IMO. The escort gt has a BP in it - aka Miata 1.8.
Based on your sig, I think you'd be better off fixing your Miata, surely a better option than either of those cars.
