1 Attachment(s)
The cone type thing that bolts up to the driveshaft..
I am trying to put get together the parts for my new rear end and need this frikken thing but I don't know what it is called. Also, are they the same for all years? I have an 03. Annnd does anyone have one they want to sell me? :makeout: |
I want to say its the carrier.
But now I'm not sure.... dammit... |
Um.... that's the differential itself.
|
Carrier is the thing with wings that attaches the diff to frame.
Where ever the gears are, it's called the differential... |

The differenital allows each of the driving to rotate at different speeds..how is a big chuck of cast iron going to do that? :fawk: |
|
pinion housing
|
i think carrier or differential/pinion housing are both acceptable.

Hate it when junkyards refer to the diff assembly as the third member. Maybe on an American V8, but the damn thing isn't a member at all on an IRS car. |
