What should I do!!! *Turbo Help*

So I am planning to do a turbo build throughout the next few months, I say months because I am not rushing anything and want to take my time with this. I want to know...What type of upgrades, modifications, or tweaking should I do before buying a single turbo part. I've been doing my 'homework' but I am curious to see what other peoples Inputs are. With that In mind could someone put together a list of steps I should take before turbocharging my car, Not sure If its worth mentioning but Its a 93 1.6L
Note: The engine and drive train are all stock.

Anyways, I hope someone can help me out :) Feel free to reach out to me on Instagram @sheltonshilliday or just leave a comment on this thread. Thanks!

the first step is doing research and learning all of these things instead of asking someone to spoonfeed you a summary of research you should be doing on your own.

welcome to the forum. we don't like lazy noobs

Apparently you did not read my thread

"I've been doing my 'homework' but I am curious to see what other peoples Inputs are"

I have been doing research for quite some time now, but as I said...I would like other peoples suggestions.
Sorry for being a "lazy noob" I'm just curious :)

*Guess I should have been more specific*

Correction:

Make a list of modifications YOU think I should do before buying a single turbo part.

deezums 11-09-2016 08:26 PM

How about you make us a list of what this "research" has you thinking you should do.

Otherwise, fuck off.

18psi 11-09-2016 08:27 PM

I was literally about to post those exact words in the 1st sentence

shuiend 11-09-2016 08:31 PM

I post a 5 step list all the fucking time of what exactly to do. Go search and find it, then read it, then do it. Because it is exactly what the fuck we would say here.

Shelton 11-09-2016 08:32 PM

I see we are to mature for this type of thing, Sorry to bother :)

18psi 11-09-2016 08:33 PM

But wait, you didn't read his thread.

Let me help you understand: make him a list. Here. Now. That would require not effort on his part. You were born yesterday, act accordingly.

Maybe I should have worded It differently. All i meant to ask was for some suggestions on what to do first.

Shelton 11-09-2016 08:37 PM

Keyword: Suggestions
Guess I got one..."Fuck off"

lol

18psi 11-09-2016 08:41 PM

You should take it :)

But in all seriousness: if you actually stick around long enough to become a regular, you will not only understand why you're getting such responses, but you will yourself provide exactly the same ones.

This place is full of nice guys. Until you try to exploit them thinking they're idiots.

Shelton 11-09-2016 08:49 PM

Thanks for clearing that up, but I never thought anyone hear was idiots. I may have given a faulty description on what I am looking for. Just trying to gather as much Information as possible...That's all :)

Well, I have had enough Internet today. That will conclude today's "research"
Thanks for pointing me In the right direction...LOL

There are plenty of what to do for turbo posts. People's inputs will be what you read in the threads man. One suggestion I can also give you is attacking the people who you are asking for help is not the way to go, they have been there done that, your still new.... There is a search button on the top right btw...

Shelton 11-09-2016 08:56 PM

Thanks for the response!
If they had made a comment like yours I would have gave them my full respect but I was greeted with fuck off :cjerk:

turbofan 11-09-2016 09:10 PM

That's because you deserved fuck off.

Seriously. You said you've done your homework. So post a summary of what you've done. Post your current plan, and we can critique it and help you. This results in YOU spending a lot of time making a post, and US making small replies to help you, not the other way around.

otherwise, fuck off.

I understand. Another thing you can is just see what big vendors sell and do research on those parts. So for example in my build i decided to go with a nice ATI Harmonic Balancer since I plan on going over the 250 hp. I probably wouldnt have found that unless I just clicked on pretty much everything FAB9 sells. People running those businesses know what they are talking about, so I would feel free to email them a question about the parts and stuff, they have knowledgable people there to answer it all. Just a little trick I learned if I cant find the answer online haha.

I love it when they assume we're here to personally hold their hand and spoon feed them info

No mention of a budget? Just start spending money with your choice of forum sponsors and u will end up with bad @ss turboz, much HP.

sixshooter 11-10-2016 10:51 AM

I started with two of the big ones, but they drew quite a premium the week before race wars. And I still owe somebody a ten second car.

Tell us what you have learned. Then ask clarifying questions. You are not sending us money for this help so you have to be someone we are interested in helping out for nothing, don't you know?
