Wheel fitment issue
So I bought a set of RPF1's a few months ago which I wasn't planning to mount until spring. I came across a thread that said RPF1s don't fit over sport brakes....which I happen to have. So I go to the garage and check - they don't fit :vash:
Can I grind a bit off the caliper and be ok? It seems they rub, but feels like 2-3mm more clearance would do the trick. So the real question is, how much caliper clearance do I need at minimum? Do wheels deflect in anyway that I should be concerned about? Or can I take off the bare minimum to let it spin freely? http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/9428/img4854s.jpg http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/3671/img4853h.jpg Thanks. |
Probably need to check clearance with new pads. The caliper will move outward with new pads. Or are they not on sliders on a Miata?

Do what I did... sell the current wheels and get ones that fit over the brakes :) I had to sell two of my sets of wheels (inculding a set of like-new Enkei NT03+M) so I could buy a set that would fit over my Brembos :giggle:

thats the only downfall of the rpf1's yeah it sucks you could downsize your brakes

I'm going to try grinding the caliper down a bit. |
