Wheel opinions: I give in to you.

Found this new wheel on Tirerack that I really like thats 13 pounds and 99$ a wheel. Instead of spending twice as much on 17 inch performance tires as I would 15s has me thinking about getting something new. Might either resell the MSM wheels or toss them on my Protege for something different.

Anyway, one thing I don't like about that new wheel is its only available in 15x7 and I was looking for more like an 8 inch wide wheel.. So I'm looking for some opinions; While my car is stock suspension right now I plan on dropping it minimum of one inch here pretty soon and need to make sure I'm not rubbing real bad. Have access to a fender rolling device that I'll use before upgrading the wheels, but I know with 205/40-17 tires my Mazdaspeed wheels rub moderately bad on a M1 with Racing Beat 1.25 drop springs and AGX shocks. Same car with Team Dynamics Pro2 +30mm and 205/45-15 w/Kuhmo Victors == Destruction of unrolled fenders.

Would it really be worth the extra cost on the street to get some 8 or 9 inch wheels? I like the 6UL but would rather not spend 700 on wheels alone..

6UL's, hands down, they'll definitely be the next wheels I buy. Whether or not you NEED 8 or 9 inch wide wheels depends on what power levels you're looking to get to and what you'll be using the car for. You can never have too many wheels laying around though so why not pick them up?
