Where to tap in mech oil and coolant temp gauges?

Hey Guys,

I have a couple of gauges (so far I have a boost, WB, volt, coolant temp and oil pressure.)

I am looking to get the oil and coolant gauges running next.

They are both the mechanical type and I am wondering where to tap in for the coolant and where to tap in for the oil gauge?

It says to remove the stock temp sensor but I dont want to lose the gauge on the dash. Can I tap into the rad itself?

Also with the oil pressure is there an easy spot to tap into, or do I have to tap the oil pan for that?

Thanks for the help and suggestions.

If it's oil TEMP - I stuck mine on the exhaust side in the deep part of the oil pan. Yes - drilled and tapped. For pressure, you'll need to use a pressurized port on the block or add a sandwich plate with ports behind the filter or put a T behind the stock pressure sensor. I put a mechanical coolant sensor in the cap at the back of the head that runs the coolant to the heater core. Besides that you can buy a tube with a bung that will splice into one of the rad hoses (preferably the return) - then just screw the sensor in.

Some remove the drain plug, drill a hole through the middle of it, and tap that. I did that, and then I moved the sensor to the oil feed line on the turbo when I went turbo.

you already have an oil pressure gauge, whatcha want is a temp gauge.

get a block that goes inbetween the block and filter or block and oil pressure sensor.

For water temp I used an electric gauge and just wired it into the stock sensor (works fine)

Thanks, it is just oil pressure, I know the stock one does the same thing but I would like to get this one running as well.

Any idea if there is a port on the block? or where i can get a sandwich plate?

Do you know where i can get a tee to put into the rad hose line?

Thanks
