Where's Jason from Enthuza?

I ordered a 3" exhaust from Enthuza on Oct 17th, the money went through on PayPal but then I got no confirmation/reply so emailed Jason. About a week later he replied and said that he'd been in an accident but getting back to work and catching up on orders.
Since then I've emailed him 3 times for an update but not got a reply.
Pretty much everything I've read about Jason and Enthuza online have been really positive so I'm not all that worried just wondering what's going on as I really want my new muffler.

Does anyone know what's going on? How long do orders usually take from Enthuza? Is he usually slow at replying to emails?
The fact that he said he had an accident and a few people on here are friends with him I thought I'd just try to find out the story before getting pissed. Going to try calling after the weekend.

My experience with Jason is that he's not always on top f emails. He always returns calls if you leave a message.

He's usually really bad with emails, and he has been really sick. Give him to see just how far behind he is.

Either way. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

He was in the hospital with a concussion sometime in the last month or two. There is a thread on miata.net where he posts about it. Personal injuries really suck when you run a small one man business.

Thanks for the replies.

I found that post on miata.net which confirms what has been said here. Since he was unwell it seems he's got quite a backlog of orders to get through.

Calling from Japan is a bit of a pain but will do so today.

Hopefully it won't be much longer.

Well, I tried calling but just got voicemail. Left a message but still not got a reply from him.

This is going on too long.

Fair enough if he was unwell and got behind on his orders but he should reply to let customers know what the situation is or have someone relay information for him.

Does anyone know anything about him? Is he still in business?

Thinking I should start legal proceedings to get my money back since there has been no contact from him for around 5 weeks now.

Iv been waiting over 3 weeks as well, and sent 3 emails within the last week. I too am about to cancel my order as I had to put my car away sunday based on the snow we have coming and I don't want it just sitting around all winter.

Why don't you get a shop locally to make what you want? Shipping a bunch of metal tubes from Georgia, USA to Yokohama is going to be fucking $Texas amounts of money. Not to mention that the exchange rate is incredibly against your favor right now.

But hey, let's threaten legal action against a 1 man shop who has had a TBI.

Did I miss the part where you filed a Paypal dispute to get your money back? That'll be the least expensive route for you.

sshamrockk 12-07-2016 08:39 PM

I agree that legal action is a little wild, I was going to use the PayPal dispute and have a local shop fab up the test pipe, but now that the car is stored away I don't mind waiting a few more weeks for Jason. With that said, it's not very good business to be "really bad with emails." To me that's not a viable excuse, now it was mentioned he was in an accident and that's acceptable but a heads up would of been nice.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to but yes, 5 weeks with no replies and still MIA, I'm going to have to claim my money back. Looking at PayPal/credit card policies it will be much easier than I thought - no need for legal action.

Getting anything fabricated/welded in Japan is really expensive for some reason (same for painting). It would have been cheaper to buy it and pay for the FPO shipping.

Last thing I heard was that he had recovered from a concussion and was back at work. With no other information and no contact, of course I'm going to try to get my money back...Gladly, I have found that this can all be done easily through PP/CC.

I hope he's OK and if I find that this lack of contact was beyond his control and he gets back to work I'll happily re-place my order.
