"While it's out..." (or: spacerless reroute, hard water lines)

Figured I should do things legitimately since I had this motor out.

-10AN fitting welded into the pan with a -10AN nylon drain:

-6AN bung welded into the mixing manifold, with 3/8" hardline for the coolant feed/return to turbo:

Since the 99 block doesn't have the M12x1.25 port on the side, we tapped the aluminum port that's normally for the coolant feed to the oil mixer and placed the feed line to the turbo there:

We also elected to use the 99 water neck vs. a 1.6 water neck, since the 1.6 water neck doesn't allow me to use the stock temp sensor port. Puts the coolant up a little high, but if need be I can add a secondary cap next to the intake manifold to bleed the system.

Drilled and tapped the head for a heater core feed as well:

Not too much more to do now. Waiting on the Tunertoys BSP adapter to get the feed line hooked up, and other than that it's about ready to drop back into the car.

Look at the pictures / I am ready to debate

Hardlines are nice.

BTW, in that first pic that -10AN to hose 45* ell may not clear the steering arm. Might have to get a 60* ell for clearance.

yeah my 45* had some issues clearing the steering stem. I just hit it with a hammer to make a custom 57* fitting. It all depends on where you put your fitting but it looks about the same as mine.

The 45* clears.... barely.

Sav I think you may be OK but that fitting you added to the back of the 'oil mixer' feed is going to be pretty close to the firewall.

It fits. There isn't a ton of room, but it does clear.

I wouldnt like that tight clearance unless I had something like solid mounts. Looks like any engine movement would hit it, and I would be scared of it breaking and dumping my oil. Looks like good work though, I like the ideas.

He pretty much does have solid motor mounts.

It would dump coolant, and the motor doesn't move front to back like that at all. There's probably about 3/8" of clearance between it and the firewall. Plenty of room.
