Default Help me dress up my 5.0 99

Planning ahead to do a bit of a dress up of the new 5.0 car. The car is going to be painted titanium, black top, get a nice pair of race seats, roll bar, steering wheel, new carpet. Hard top would be nice but we will have to see how much everything else costs, on top of the 5.0 conversion.

What front bumper cover/lip is available that will fit a 99? Something like Dopple's. I'm going to swing from his ******* and paint it the titanium color as well. I don't know about these things but I know what I like and I always have blown a nut on his car. Are 99-00 parts the same as 01+? Does the MSM bumper fit the 99's? When he switched recently back to the MSM part it looked good but I like the other part as well but don't know what it is. Garage Vary maybe?

Debating on which side skirts as well. I have the AP2 on my turbo car now. I like that, plus the mudflaps actually do have a purpose where I live. Not so much for the mud, but to keep rock chips down.

Also debating on sanding down the rock guard on the sides completely when I repaint. I think that the pebbled effect looks like *** on a nice car. I know that sounds like a step backwards given what I just said above, but looking for ideas.

Also debating on what to do on the rear. I doubt that I will go with the elise diffuser (or other type) , but it is getting dual exhaust for sure.

I have time, just looking for ideas, pics. Show me what you like. I refuse to hang out at CR but if you know of something that you think looks good post it up. I want to at least have everything together by February. That's my target for paint.

I put on the 03 bumper and lights and LOVEEEEEEEEE it. Have the optional front lip for it too that I plan to throw on before paint. I would highly suggest the 01+ front bumper/lights with the DIY blackout treatment and either the MSM lip or the optional lip.

Here's the look I'm talking about:

His is Garage Vary and I think that the bumper for the NA that you're talking about from GV may be the one I have.

Bumper in my sig is GV, the "other" pictures I posted up were with the stock nose and the "large" OEM front lip...as the m.netters call "tupperware" that goes with the OEM large side sills. You can pickup the front lip and side skirts already painted Ti on eBay from the seller Chrysler-W. Personally, I think the small mudflaps look best, the large ones don't flow with the car as well, but work good on dark colored cars (emerald green, black, strato blue).

Yes all NB bumpers are interchangable and is best done with the correct year headlights, esp. if you're going to use a fiberglass aftermarket bumper. As for the rock-guard, it's still on my car and really isn't noticable on lighter color cars.

This is the OE large lip for those too lazy to go find the thread Stein is talking about.

There aren't many rear bumper treatments out there, but GV has a beautiful one that has a lot of function/reduction of drag. I WILL eventually have this rear bumper...(sorry for the large pic)

why do all side skirts look gay?
why do they have to have all that ribby bullshit? why not just simple and understated?

**** stein, get some blue foam from home depot and build your own. cut a profile from some ABS and cut the foam to fit it smoothly and make a fiberglass mold and DONE.

These are simple and understated...just don't look at the Jaguar-wannabe rear lowerWTFness. I don't know what they are though.

DGMotorsports had some available for awhile, but they've stopped making them and pictures are nearly impossible to find. But imagine the OEM small skirts that just went straight down the side and didn't have that little flare at the rear.

That's a little toooo DIY, even for me.

So, the way I read it, 01+ fits as is, fits even better with 01+ lights. What is the "better" part? I assume 99 hood is no problem with 01+ lights?

Correct. It's the bottom contour of the headlights that are different..thus the difference in needing (preferring) to use the correct headlights.

it's about 80% aesthetics and about 20% better light from the projector beams.

Yes

I just looked at your album. I already knew this, but I will have this color. OEM side skirts and mudguards, MSM or GV front. V8 power. Tasty.

Unfortunately, I have bronze 6ULs with brand new RS3's. They would look like *** on this car. It's one of the very thin reasons to stay black. It would look ****. I even thought of ghosting some bronze-tinted stripes on the car.

So, titanium paint, black top. Black, silver or nickel 6ULs???

I don't think gold/bronze looks bad on titanium....it'd look just fine.
