Whos running Ecodes?
Yea I know you're running ecodes Savington, you get a cookie.
----- Who else here is running E-codes, specifically which ones. hi/low 100/55, 100/80 or 60/55? How do you like em? What year is your car? Did you modify your wiring harness if you are running past 55w on the lows? Pictures of before and afters if you have would be great. |
Im running the 100/80 on the stock harness no issues for a few months now. There a huge improvement over stock. I actually had someone ask me if I had HID's. Sorry, no before and after pics.

you know, I always bitch about my lights sucking ass and I just can't see myself getting the AAC's yet. I know E-codes are european spec and focus more lighting on the road and are simply brighter than most 7" bulbs, but is there anything else about them I should know? What if one burns out, can I run to NAPA and get one or are they a bulb type deal? Please tell me more, I may get these and snap some before after picsfor ya'll lol
Thanks Dan |
I had eCode's on my 84 GTi back in the day, and they were wonderful. I'll be buying a set for the Miata in the near future.

They are not sealed lamps. You can put an bulb you want in them.

That's good to know. How available are the bulbs, not to be lazy, but i'd like to hear from those who have them rather than trust ebay at the moment.
|
They just take H4/9003 bulbs, any store has them.
|
Sweet, I think I know what to do now...thanks
|
i am running 100/80 ecodes from rally lights. They are so freakin nice. Everyone says they are really good and I was so skeptical but they are definitely worth it. Once you get them adjusted they have a super sharp cut off and illuminate comparable to HID

I'm using China HID in my E-Codes..
The 80/100s that came in the housings I actually put in my 2000 Protege and the bulbs are freaking SWEET! If I didn't already have the HID lighting in the miata before I got the E-Codes installed I honestly wouldn't have bothered with them. |
I have e-codes in a 94.
use 55/60 w on driver's side; 80-100w on passenger side. OEM wiring. have used Cibies and Hellas on foreign & US cars: 7", 5.25", 4x6 quads... |
where has everyone ordered their e-codes?
i fvail... everytime i look up ecodes i get http://search.ebay.com/search/search...des&category0= |

Hellas with HIDs. No, not as good as projectors, but about 100000000000x better than stock.
If you're going to run halogen bulbs, I'd recommend going with the Cibies. A little more money, but they are a better lamp. |
Hella e-codes here... with stock 55/60 bulbs.
But I also have the 9006 in the turn-signals, so I rarely use the H4's for regular city driving. Out in the sticks though... it works just fine. <G> Dave, |
I see three different bulbs in the 100/80, any input on longevity of each, is one better than the others? Which should I go with? I don't mind paying a few bucks extra if I am gonna get a better brigher bulb.

Not really sure what the difference is. I got the H6024N bulbs and im very happy with them.

FWIW, I've got the Hella E-code housings (from Susq) with the "standard" 60/55 lamps. Kit # H6024A. Not only do they seem to put out slightly more light than stock, but it's very well focused. When shining against a wall, you can see a sharp horizontal cutoff line, with a little diagonal kicker up on the right (curb) side. Not quite as sharp as the projectors that my Integra had, but damn close and a lot better than the stock DOT sealed-beam housing. |
