So I have used my LC-1 for about 2 years now, it uses a G3 gauge and not a digital readout. It has worked perfectly since I installed it, until lately. The issue I have is I'll start my car, it'll work fine, I'll drive my car and shut it off somewhere. I'll go to start it up again, and the LC-1 gauge will read fine again, but randomly where I park somewhere and shut the car off and start it back up, the gauge will read all the way lean like it's not even functioning at all. Then the next time I shut the car off and start it back up, it'll work fine. It never did this before, and I checked all the connections. What would cause this? Could the controller itself be going bad?

I just installed an LC-1, so I can't offer much, other than that the instructions recommend recalibrating it frequently. I'm not exactly sure what "frequently" means, but surely every 5K or 1/2 year would be advisable.

The lc-1 I have in my Subaru does exactly the same thing, except it will peg to rich, not lean, on a narrowband gauge that I inverted and scaled the output to work with the wb. It seems to happen only when it is hot outside. 9 out of 10 times it works okay when it's hot, so I don't let it bother me much.

My money is on the sensor being bad. I have an AEM wideband that did that not too long ago. AEM's instructions pin those symptoms as the sensor going bad, I'm guessing that LC-1 is the same way.

I don't have my LED hooked up, so I have no idea. It works fine 95% of the time. If I start it cold, it's fine. it seems like when it's hot after a few restarts (gas station shut off, fill up, and then restart) sometimes I'll turn the key, watch the gauge reset, and then I'll crank the car, and it just reads all the way rich. I said lean before, but I was wrong, it's all the way rich.

How did you guys wire yours?

When I first got it and calibrated it, it was perfect. Then I tried to calibrate it again because it was just flashing 7.4 and then it worked but it indicated everything richer than it should have been. I tried to calibrate it again and it still just says 7.4 but will randomly show odd numbers but still shows 21.9 whenever I let off over 4k rpm like it did when I first got it.

Mine has done it to me twice in the last month or so when it is really hot. I do have the LED hooked up. It will go through it's heater sequence (don't know why it needs the heater on a hot start) then peg rich. It flashed code 3 once and code 4 once. Both times it was fine after the next restart. I'm not going to worry about it, I think it just gets itself too hot

I think the LED is worth having, its saved me a few times. Even if its just for calibrations.

This all reminds me, I have a new sensor to get rid of....
