Hello guys. Wanting to wire a tacho in my 1.8 BP based kit car.

Well I started with an ebay bargain no name thing and had no luck so I replaced it with a (still pretty cheap but known name and comes with instructions one). It is made to run off the coil negative and has ground, 12v and signal wire. So I used this diagram:

Additionally I tried putting the signal wire straight on to each of the 3 wires of a coil and none produced any reading.

I am using MS2 but I'm fairly certain it makes no difference from the coils point of view from stock ecu. Any advice what I'm doing wrong or where I can wire it to ie. the cam sensor?

Jesus. Use your damn ms2 to send the tach signal directly to the ******* tach using the tach output function.
