Ignore the color for a minute. Is this similar to how other bars mount?

Looks like it mounts to the top of the seat belt towers. Not bad, but the hard dog hard core has a much more sturdy mount at the bottom of the tower.

Looks like an autopower.

The mounting of that bar doesnt exactly look good to me. A flat flange welded with no gussets or plating to strengthen it. As far as safety goes, I feel very safe with my BF double hoop, which has 8 mounting points. Quite large flanges with gussets and bracing on the rear most mointing points. The seatbelt tower points (which I dont have hooked up, the holes are off by about 1/2'', probably due to my rush to install, but maybe that improves hardtop fitment since its forward) and then the points on the bulkhead behind the seats by the seatbelt reels, and one on the floor on each side of the trans tunnel. I feel that the mounting of this bar would hold up very well in any accident. The bar you posted however looks substandard to me. Looks like a total of 6 bolts holding it on, vs the BF DH model which if I remember correctly has 16. Of course thats more bolts and holes, but thats the point of the bar, to hold up under stress and not crack or rip off/apart.

For 60 bucks, it is better than nothing. Looks like an Autopower as mentioned before.

I have this one, and I like it. It was a breeze to install.

Hard Dog Ace.

you should cheap out on the roll bar because its not really important. I mean seriously, how often do you drive on the roof? why not just make one out of PVC and paint it black? No one will ever know.

Only as long as it is schedule 40 pvc. The schedule 20 doesn't hold up to pressure.

I could be wrong, but that doesn't look like my autopower bar. If it is, 60 bucks is a screamin deal.

There is nothing wrong with an autopower bar compared to any of the others in my opinion. There actually isn't another bar that I like as much as my autopower.

Doesn't look like Autopower to me, maybe custom?

Plates can be fabbed up pretty easily.

Needs more triangulation, but for $60 buy it and add you own.

It's the Miata Autopower Street bar. The short legs mount to the existing holes in the seat belt tower. It has two bolts from the top and one from the front connecting it to the tower. The rear legs mount into the wheel well much like the HD does. I just removed mine in favor of a HDHCHTSD. The autopower street is just that, a good street bar. It sits well back from your unhelmeted head. It is strong but it's low and narrow. I never got called out on mine but some clubs could easily refuse to let you run on the track with it due to height. I'm only 5'8" and with a bunch of foam removed from the stock seats my head was still well above the bar.

Good street bar and stiffens the car up. Great buy at $60.

Edit: The other reason I got rid of it, since it's low and sits back farther the top of the bar is right in the middle of the rear view mirror. Interferes with the view out the back a bunch. If I didn't swap it out I would have tried to mount the rear view mirror a little lower for better visibility.
