Default Roll bars save lives

Friend who purchased my old Miata took it to the Tail of the Dragon this weekend. Somehow the car flipped, but the roll bar definitely saved his life. Couldn't be happier about having that installed while I had the car. Wouldn't have my friend today if I didn't.

Too bad about the car, glad he's OK but this is why they patrol that place so much; lotta accidents like this. Few years ago a guy died going off the road in a Miata being driven by someone else.

If I'm gonna crash my car driving in a place like that, it'll be at Beartooth Pass because SCENERY.

Also, I'm installing door bars and a roll bar this spring, that windshield looks pretty bendy.

Not driving like an *** on public roads also saves lives, too. Take it to a controlled environment like the track.

I'm sorry but you and your friend are stupid. You don't drive a car your not very very experienced with on a road like this. If you go off the road that's mostly due to you believing your better then you are. Especially in someone else's car! I'd simply never hand the keys to anyone unless they knew it was a cruise only.

Dibs on the seats, assuming they're cloth and in reasonable condition.

He purchased the car from me months ago. I wasn't even in the same state. Yes, he probably exceeded his limits, but mistakes happen and in the rare case a miata flips, a roll bar could save a life. I'm not excusing his behavior. The rear tire hit dirt on the side of the road, when the back end came around, that tire headed back towards the road and hit the raised pavement sideways. It broke the axle and flipped the car.
