Wisconsin/Illinois members - Please Read!

Mods if there is a more appropriate section for this please move it, not entirely sure where this would fall into. :EDIT: Like insert bs here.. oops

I know there are a few WI members on here, MessiahX and a few others that run at GLD, and I know this is more than likely too short of notice for anyone to come, I'm just trying to spread the word to as many people as possible.

There is a meeting at the Town of Paris town hall at 6pm tomorrow, Tuesday December 15th, in regards to allegations of noise and light pollution from Great Lakes Dragaway. If you race, spectate, understand the revenue GLD brings in, or don't want street racing to come back when our track is closed, COME SHOW SUPPORT! This is the first step towards the track being closed. :vash::vash::vash:

More info can be found at GLDs website at Great Lakes Dragaway

If i lived there i would be there for sure. Illegal street racing is very dangerous, and when they close down the strip street racing will blow up.

I'm barely a drag strip visitor.... and this is bullshit. Just far enough to not be able to make anything like this.

Sigh. Seems to happen with almost every track venue at some point in its life. A few people move into the area thinking it won't bother them much... then get bored... and try to get the track venue shut down.

Basically closet HOA douche bags.

Damn. That's bullshit. I'd have no prob going except I joined the USAF this summer and now I don't live in Wisconsin anymore - it's still home, though. (Currently in Mississppi, then FL in 5 months)

Dumbfucks complaining about noise cost us our good autox locations in Appleton for the FVSCC a couple years back. Someone decided that autox was too noisy, despite the fact that the lot we used was literally bordered on one side by Highway 41.

Good luck man. Let us know how it goes.

Sorry man, I'm still up at school. That place has been around forever, they can't suddenly decide it's noisy. Isn't it like next to a corn field and a junkyard?

ApexOnYou 12-15-2009 01:36 PM

Corn fields to the west, south, and east for the most part. North is all subdivisions, one of which I live in now. It's loud enough to hear outside, bit indoors you rarely hear anything. They close at 10pm almost every night for noise so it's really NOT an issue. Besides, the strips been here since the 60s at the latest (back when it was 3 or 4 lanes wide with no dividers lol), most of these subdivisions came late 80s early 90s. Not our fault you built a house near a national race track!
