I really don't understand all the people doing all of this extra work OR complaining about hte results they get when they loop the lines. I'm a weak ass 130LB guy at 5'9 and I just dropped the PS pump, looped the lines (without doing anything special to remove an extra fluid from the system, etc...) and NEVER thought it was hard to turn the wheel, even when pushing the car around a garage under no power at all it seemed easy to me. Maybe I just did something SUPER DUPER right?
I bent my NRG wheel the one time I ran without powersteering. |

What size tire do you run? What size steering wheel?

I want to do this but I would need to rig up a new pulley tensioner setup. Or I could just get a GT3071R!

When I first bought the miata 5 years ago I didn't know much and I ripped the PS out and didn't loop any hoses or anything, 5 years later and I still haven't done anything about it and it still working fine.

I have considered putting the power steering back on my car. With 10" wide slicks and a smaller steering wheel (to clear my knees). It would be handy in autox to be able to make small mid corner corrections. I can manage currently, but I think I could have a little more control and precision with it. It's not like the miata ps is over boosted and most people here are making enough power that the ps pump isn't going to make a noticable difference.
