Here in Italy we are at 1.56€ per liter.... that means around 6€ per gallon.... that means 8.4$ per gallon!

Too expensive, but if you have a second (diesel or GPL) car you don't have to care too much!

I am paying $10.23/gal for gas here folks..
And this is with the recent price cut on gasoline..

It was about $10.65/gal last week..

Oh, and yes.. My mileage is down big time since I boosted the car.
Let me put it this way: I go through 8 to 10 liters of water every day for my water injection system.
Kinda hard to keep your foot off the gas when you have the powah..

I think value added taxes might push the USA to civil war.

Opposite of how economy works. If the cost of gasoline goes up, so too will the cost of corn.

VAT is fair for everyone. Illegal, so pay no income taxes? The gov't still get some from VAT. Make your money off drugs, loansharking, etc? The gov't still gets a cut. Easy to hide from income taxes if you are outside the law. Not so easy to avoid spending money, though.

That's slightly different.

The government isn't forcing farmers to grow corn and not things that the economy is demanding in order to effectively raise food, gas, and clothing prices all under the guise that e85 is beneficial to race cars - but for the environment and the American public's best interest.

There are two correct answers to this question. For posterity's sake, I'll list them both:

Yes.

No.
