Default max HP on stock engine?

Hello, i'm new on this forum
I wish to buy a miata NB 1.8 99-00 or 01-05 (what is the best for turbo application?)and the purchase of a Begi S3 turbo kit, I shall want to know the max power possible with a stock engine? Just 550cc injectors, walbro 255lph, AEM 30-1910 Piggy back ECU and the GT2560R with the S3 kit (and possibility with a 2mm maruha head gasket and arp head studs)..

Looking forward to your reply, I thank you cordially.

Laurent.

Since you're going to be running a piggy back and only 550cc injectors, I would limit a setup like that to about 340whp, which (documented many times on this forum as seen by using the search function) is easily capable on a stock motor.

I think I dynoed close to 415whp with a similar setup. I was using a FPR and vibes though. If you SEARCH my user name you should find my detailed build thread. The title of the thread was Dumaus Knewb builds Unicorn.

Maybe only 320, unless you have an excellent tune.

thanks for the answers

320hp is effectively apprx the max possible with this setup, I wanted just to make sure that it is no problem to run apprx 16 - 17 psi with 10:1CR and stock rods..

If you're worried about boost pressure, just run a much bigger turbo at low boost. Such as, a gt3076 at like 10 psi. That way you'll make similar horsepower with less boost, but you'll flow more cooler air which means less pressure pushing against your rods. That's how people make like 400hp on stock motors.

Lol!! You does not understand my question?
I do not want a big turbo, I already have that on another car (civic 450hp)..

The fact that you're asking about max power on an engine, like its some set in stone number, and then mentioning running a thicker head gasket on a BP tells us you know all of nothing about these cars. And that's fine, don't get me wrong, but you're gonna need to do at least some footwork before you come to us with silly questions. Its for your own benefit. Take your hand away from the " buy " button and do some research first man.

That looks like a pretty respectable Civic build.

OK, Ill be nice since your Civic actually looks legit. Every post above is full of ****, trolling your newb ***. Search the forum for all your answers, but about 240ish torque is the max on the stock rods.

the problem for me is to express me to me in a foreign language, OK I am clumsy, sorry..
My goal is apprx 280 crank HP, I wanted just to know if it is possible with stock internals and a small turbo like a 2560R, my limit will be a 2860R but no more..
If it is not safe, OK I am going to take time to look on the forum..

It is the reason why I also ask for the apprx limit with 9:1 on engine stock..

slmhofy and I<3flippyheadlights , thank you

280 crank hp is doable but no more.

We understand now that english isn't your first language.

250 torque is considered max, which you should be able to make 280 crank hp with, JUST.

Thanks,
Dann

Why do Hondas Blocks look like they were designed to be Vented? lol
good build though. As long as you put that SAME effort into the miata after some research, there is no doubt you will be able to put down some damn good numbers.

Laurent, 240-250 wheel torque is the absolute limit on stock connecting rods. If you change to forged rods you can go higher.

Please start a thread in the "Meet and Greet" section and tell us about you and your cars.

Yeah, do the rods AT LEAST.... Forged rods that CAN handle about 650hp are only about $300

Thank you for your answers. I think that to be safe, apprx 240 / 250hp at the crank will be very sufficient for amuse me as a child. Meanwhile, I would build another block with wiseco 84mm 8.8cr and K1 rods and to push apprx 18psi.

, I had other several civic, ( EC9 1.4L carb) with built B16 swap, stock evo8 turbo, iveco daily truck fmic, all custom fab for 332.5hp at only 14.5 psi.
So an EK4 with built B16 and one GT3071R and 375hp at 14.5psi.
I am going to try to find dyno sheets.. But why not to put my photos here rather than to open another thread?

edit: sixshooter, ok, I created a thread of presentation.. https://www.miataturbo.net/meet-gree...4/#post1078407
